About OKCStrikers

The OKCStrikers Cricket Club started its journey in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the year 2000. The club used to play cricket at I-44 and 31st Street on a recreational basis. Eventually, in 2003 we chose the name OKCStrikers and the club moved to the cricket ground in Crossroads Sports Complex. In 2005, OKCStrikers joined the Tri-State Cricket League, a reputable league in the region consisting of 7 teams from Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. Our club is a recognized non-profit organization that welcomes any individual interested in playing cricket. In 2008 we won the Tri-State Championship Trophy, in 2009 we reached the semi-finals. 2010 was a year of rebuilding after 25% of our 2009 team moved locations, by the end of the year we were once again a competitive side.

News

Our official season starts in April, the first match of the TSCL league will probably be Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd. Before then we have to decide who is going to lead the club both on and off the field. To do this we have an Annual General Meeting at which we vote for the key positions of Captain, V. Captain, President, Treasurer and Secretary. This year we have decided to have our AGM on Saturday the 26th of February. Once that is out of the way, and if last year is anything to go by, we will be dressed up in our woolies striking the old cherry in the first week of March in some pre-season warm-up matches. The League has an AGM too which will most likely be on the 5th of March and the newly appointed President and Captain will travel up to represent the Strikers.
